Many ex-Gurkhas who have settled in the UK are Gurung people from the village of Kalabang Gharedi in the Himalayas of West Nepal. With a strong community spirit they have set up a ‘Samaj’ or association to look after their members and send much-needed support back to the mother village. Partly in English and partly Nepali
